SC State conducts a STEM and Agriculture Saturday Academy for Lowcountry youth.

SC State 1890 Coastal Extension’s free STEM & Agriculture Saturday Academy targets Lowcountry students (ages 5-18) for careers in science, technology, engineering, math, and agriculture. Held bi-monthly at Charleston’s Coastal Research and Education Center (35 Lee St.), Saturday’s event was the second.

Student Activities
Kids joined group sessions plus breakouts on 4-H/agriculture paths, sewing, seed planting, and Boeing 737 lessons via Dream Learners partnership. Free breakfast provided.

Dr. Sabrina Edwards: Sparks innovative minds in STEM, agriculture resources, healthy living, college majors, and careers to boost high school completion/higher ed.
Dr. Bazgha Zia: Covers food security and ag careers.
