North Charleston, South Carolina – An 18-year-old was detained on Friday for a shooting at Northwoods Mall last weekend.
Jaipell Hope faces three counts of attempted murder and one count of possessing a weapon during a violent crime.
According to the North Charleston Police Department, Hope brought himself in on Friday morning.
He allegedly shot a man on the mall’s sidewalk on Saturday, November 8. The victim’s injuries were non-life-threatening.
Investigators believe the shooting was the result of a disagreement between the two individuals two years ago, while they were both in high school.
The interaction at the mall on Saturday appears to have been fortuitous, as neither is currently enrolled in school, according to the department.
