CHARLESTON, S.C. — One person was killed Tuesday on Savannah Highway near Main Road in a collision involving a Freightliner truck, according to the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office.
The release from deputies states that the two-vehicle collision occurred just before 9 p.m. on March 10, near Main Road in Charleston.
Initial investigations indicate that a freightliner was likely travelling southbound down Savannah Highway, and while stopped at a red light, was rear-ended by another vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle that ran into the freightliner truck was pronounced deceased at the scene by Charleston County EMS.
Charleston County Sheriff’s Office’s Traffic Services Unit is investigating the crash. Anyone who believes that they may have information that could assist in the investigation, is urged to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 843-202- 1700.
