Victoria Starr McCormick, 26, of North Charleston, has been arrested on drug charges after police stopped her vehicle on I‑526 West and found marijuana, crack paraphernalia, and a haul that tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine and fentanyl. The North Charleston Police Department says the stop came during an investigation into suspicious drug activity tied to a home in the Cameron Terrace neighborhood.
How the case unfolded
Officers had been conducting surveillance on the house after receiving complaints about suspicious activity and saw McCormick leaving the residence carrying several bags, then getting into a vehicle. The vehicle was later stopped after police observed traffic violations. When officers approached, they smelled marijuana, which led to a search of the car.
Inside, they discovered marijuana, drug paraphernalia, plastic bags, a digital scale, and a crack pipe. They also found a makeshift container holding more than four grams of a substance that field‑tested positive for both methamphetamine and fentanyl.
Charges and custody
McCormick was charged with trafficking fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, and two counts of distribution within close proximity of a school. She was taken to the Al Cannon Detention Center, where she remains while the case moves through the Charleston County court system.
