Lowcountry Local First launched the 2026 Localist card in November 2025 as a $25 annual pass supporting local businesses while rewarding shoppers with discounts at over 65 participating spots across the Lowcountry, from North Charleston to Mount Pleasant.
Program Benefits
The card offers year-long perks at restaurants, boutiques, service providers, and more, amplifying community impact threefold compared to chain spending. Local owners like Ted Dumbrowski of Ted’s Butcherblock and Dee Ruel of Dee Ruel Jewelry Design praised it for driving foot traffic and strengthening neighborhoods, with Ted’s noting holiday upticks.
Expansion Goals
Nonprofit spokesperson Kayla Sewell highlighted its role in sustaining independent businesses. Leaders aim for thousands of cardholders by year-end to further boost the regional economy.
