NCPD arrests 18-year-old for possession of a stolen handgun.

North Charleston, South Carolina. An 18-year-old is facing charges after officers from the North Charleston Police Department uncovered a stolen firearm during a traffic check.

Around 2:15 a.m. Thursday, officers were conducting proactive patrols around area hotels when they noticed a car with faulty tag lights drive out in front of them. According to the official story, the cops pulled over the automobile after smelling marijuana.

Police then searched the car, discovering a firearm wedged between the driver’s seat and the center console.

Officers then investigated the National Crime Information Center and discovered that the gun had been reported stolen from another jurisdiction, according to North Charleston police.

The driver, Cordell Walston-Stone, 18, was arrested and charged with receiving stolen goods, operating an uninsured car, and failing to present a driver’s license. He was sent to the Al Cannon Detention Center.
