The Harambee Dance Company hosts “Kwanzaa Heritage Reimagined” on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at the Park Circle Community Building, 4800 Park Circle, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Activities include live performances, music, dance, drumming, and interactive sessions rooted in Gullah Geechee traditions.​
Cultural Significance
Originating in 1966, Kwanzaa honors African American heritage through seven Nguzo Saba principles like unity and faith, symbolized by kinara candles. Local leaders such as Sandella and Frank Malloy stress its role in fostering community dialogue and applying African principles to modern life.
