North Charleston, South Carolina. North Charleston police detained a 24-year-old man for allegedly trapping another person inside a shed due to a noise complaint.
Cesar Marquez Loyola has been charged with abduction after allegedly putting an unnamed victim inside a backyard shed for about 30 minutes on Sunday night, according to a North Charleston Police Department report.
According to the police narrative, officers arrived at the location on Elder Avenue about 11:23 p.m. on Sunday, September 28, to investigate a noise complaint. When officers arrived, they discovered a fenced-in property with a spacious backyard, shed, and patio. Officers also discovered the suspect, Marquez Loyola, who was wearing a torn blue shirt and shorts and appeared to be inebriated.
Officers then spotted the victim in the rear shed, where he spoke with officers to assist them in getting out. The victim was locked in with a deadbolt about six inches from the ground. According to the police report, Marquez Loyola was detained and placed in the back of a police cruiser.
Officers discovered that the guy was trapped in the shed because “he knew I was calling the police for the noise,” according to a police report.
According to jail records, Marquez Loyola’s bond is $25,000. He is now detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement at the Charleston County Detention Center.
