Taralynn Jean Earl, a 37-year-old former Subway manager from Goose Creek, S.C., faces multiple felony charges stemming from a burglary at the Red Bank Road Subway.
Incident Details
Deputies responded to a reported break-in and vandalism early Wednesday. Earl allegedly shattered windows for entry, returned twice more, and stole the cash drawer (valued over $2,000 but under $10,000). Surveillance and Ring camera footage captured her actions and carrying the drawer home.
Arrest and Charges
A search warrant at her Elmora Avenue residence recovered the drawer. During a traffic stop, she was identified, nabbed on a prior Mount Pleasant shoplifting warrant, and cited as a habitual traffic offender. While being booked at Hill-Finklea Detention Center, 2.6 grams of cocaine—hidden on her person—was found, leading to charges of third-degree burglary, grand larceny, malicious injury to property, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, and introducing contraband into prison.
Sheriff’s Statement
Berkeley County Sheriff Duane Lewis highlighted proactive patrols in high-crime areas as key to the quick arrest, emphasizing community protection over reactive responses. Earl remains detained as the investigation continues.
