These checks often had misleading notes in the memo line, such as “repair of truck”, to hide their true purpose. Many of these checks were then cashed so Roberts could sell oxycodone pills, which went for about $60 each.
Roberts Already Serving Time
Spencer Roberts is already in prison for earlier charges involving fraud and money laundering. He is currently serving an eight-year sentence for those crimes. With this new six-year sentence, the judge ruled that both sentences will run at the same time. His lawyer, Mark Paper, said this means Roberts will serve only one extra year in jail.
Roberts is now expected to be released in March 2029.
