Ex-fiancé of Rep. Nancy Mace launches a lawsuit over abuse accusations

Charleston, South Carolina — Patrick Bryant, Congresswoman Nancy Mace’s ex-fiancé, has launched a lawsuit against her, he announced on social media Thursday.

This comes after the Lowcountry congresswoman accused her ex-fiancé Patrick Bryant of physical abuse, recording sex activities with her and others without their consent, and collaborating with business associates to commit rape and sexual assault.

“For nearly two years, I’ve had to remain silent while utterly false accusations were propagated about me. Claims were made, repeated, and weaponized to further personal and political vendettas. “I’ve never assaulted or raped a woman,” Bryant said.

Rep. Nancy Mace accused Bryant of being a “predator” in a nearly hour-long statement on the United States House floor in February.

“I will stay focused on clearing my name and standing up for the innocent people that I care about,” Bryant told the crowd.
