North Charleston, South Carolina – A man was discovered with a stolen gun, marijuana edibles, and an open container during a Saturday night traffic check, according to the North Charleston Police Department.
Officers were patrolling near the intersection of Cosgrove and Rivers Avenues shortly before midnight when they noticed a vehicle with “defective equipment.”
During the stop, the police said that they smelled marijuana emanating from the vehicle and found an open container of beer in the cup holder.
A search of the vehicle was performed, resulting in the finding of several baggies containing THC edibles and a pistol in the glove compartment. A review of the gun through the National Crime Information Center revealed that it had been reported stolen from another jurisdiction.
NCPD arrested and charged the driver, 32-year-old Hezekiah Raysor III, with possession of stolen items, driving while suspended, operating an uninsured vehicle, and having an open container of beer.
He was lodged into Al Cannon Detention Center.
