On December 5, 2025, at around 7 p.m., 74-year-old Robert Leventhal from Mount Pleasant, S.C., was fatally struck by a vehicle while walking on Maybank Highway near Stefan Drive toward Johns Island in Charleston County.

Crash Details

The pedestrian was transported to the Medical University of South Carolina but succumbed to injuries on December 6 at 5:02 p.m. Charleston County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Services and Forensic Services Units are investigating, with the roadway closed for hours during the initial probe.
