Charleston police are looking into a killing that occurred in West Ashley on Saturday morning.

On January 10, 2026, around 12:30 a.m., Charleston Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire on Tripe Street in West Ashley, discovering a vehicle in the roadway with a deceased victim inside who had been shot multiple times. Detectives believe the victim was specifically targeted, with no evidence of a random act.​
