Charleston Housing Authority is looking for its next CEO

Charleston, South Carolina – The Charleston Housing Authority is looking for a new CEO as it goes through a period of renovation, authorities announced Friday.

Public housing is entering a new era, according to the authority, which necessitates a thorough understanding of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as well as substantial mixed-use development experience.

As a result, the Charleston Housing Authority is looking for a new leader to guide them through this new era.

Arthur Milligan Jr., the agency’s current CEO, will remain in charge while the hiring process is underway. Milligan has guided the agency through significant reconstruction initiatives, reinforced its base, and expanded community ties.

“It has been an honor to serve this organization and the residents of Charleston,” Milligan told me. “I am proud of the progress we’ve accomplished together and the team we’ve created. I look forward to assisting with a smooth transition as CHA grows into a national example for innovation in public and affordable housing.”

All services are expected to operate normally during the transition period.

The Charleston homes Authority, created in 1935, has a mission to provide secure and affordable homes for Charleston residents with low to moderate incomes.
