Bright skies and warm temps return after tonight's front!

Charleston, South Carolina – After an overnight cold front passed through the Lowcountry Sunday night, temperatures are expected to return to fall-like levels this work week!

We start the morning chilly, with temperatures in the high 40s and low 50s with a light breeze. As we continue into the afternoon, expect plenty of sunshine and highs approaching 70 degrees. This evening is largely clear, with lows in the 50s and gentle winds.

The most of the work week will be cloudless and pleasant, even as a secondary cold front sweeps through by midweek. Beginning Tuesday, afternoon high temperatures will rise into the mid-70s.

Overnight lows will be slightly lower this week, with temperatures dropping into the 40s inland early this week. By the end of the week, low temperatures should be in the 50s.

The next likelihood of rain appears to be late this weekend and early next week. Clouds begin to form on Saturday, but we expect to remain dry ahead of an upper-level disturbance that brings some moisture on Sunday.

TROPICS: We are still tracking a tropical wave (Invest 98L) as it advances westward through the Caribbean Sea. Slow organization will continue until midweek, when conditions become more favorable. According to the National Hurricane Center, the likelihood of tropical development by late week has increased significantly. The future route of such a system is uncertain, and we will continue to study trends!
