North Charleston, South Carolina – One of the largest manufacturers in the country, as well as one of the Lowcountry’s greatest employers, has begun construction on an expansion project at its North Charleston location.
Boeing South Carolina will unveil its new facility, which will be used to extend the 787 Dreamliner program, during a special event on Friday afternoon.
Last year, the business announced that production of the 787 Dreamliner would expand to ten planes per month by 2026.
Details regarding the expansion and expanded output are scheduled to be unveiled at a formal occasion around midday.
Boeing now employs approximately 7,800 people in the Lowcountry, and that figure is likely to increase over the next five years as a result of this development.
