Johns Island, South Carolina According to the Charleston Police Department, an argument at a Johns Island home turned into gunfire, killing one person and injuring another.
Charleston police were dispatched to a home on Jules Drive around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. When they arrived, they discovered a man dead in the front yard and another person with multiple gunshot wounds, according to the police department.
The injured person was transported to a nearby hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators believe several men were gathered at the home when an argument erupted. During the argument, one person fled, but allegedly returned later wearing a mask and carrying a gun.
A struggle broke out, and someone attempted to take the gun away. During the attempt, the individual was shot several times. Another person, a relative of the victim, shot and killed the masked individual.
When officers arrived, they spoke with the person who shot the masked individual while he remained on the scene and told them what had occurred. Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
An investigation is ongoing, and no charges have been filed at this point.
