North Charleston, South Carolina – The North Charleston Police Department detained a guy after a knife fight on Tuesday evening.
Gabriel Avila-Bautista, 22, was charged with first-degree assault.
At 11:13 p.m., police responded to a report of a disturbance on Stall Road involving two individuals fighting. When they arrived, they met with the suspect, who claimed it was “just two friends fighting,” according to jail documents.
Additional officers came on the location and talked with the victim, who informed them that Bautista had dropped off some garments belonging to him before they got into a violent altercation about Monday’s arrest, in which the victim was arrested for possessing a gun that he claims belonged to Bautista.
Bautista allegedly pulled out a knife, prompting the victim to pick up a short aluminum pipe. This resulted in a serious cut to the victim’s finger and a laceration to the temple of his skull.
Bautista was taken into jail and is being held at the Charleston County Jail.
