A month-long investigation into the fatal North Charleston shooting has resulted in an arrest

North Charleston, South Carolina – North Charleston police have charged a man in connection with a fatal shooting in early October.

Eric Malloy Mitchell, 28, of North Charleston, faces charges of murder, attempted murder, armed robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, sale or delivery of a stolen firearm, and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

Mitchell is accused of killing someone on the 4800 block of Piedmont Avenue on October 2. Jamichael Blair, 26, of Goose Creek, died in MUSC from numerous gunshot wounds.

Investigators believe Mitchell shot and killed Blair. Police said they made the arrest on Monday.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.

Mitchell was last seen at the Al Cannon Detention Center, where he was held without bond on most charges.
