A man from North Charleston was detained for obstructing the stabbing investigation

A 57-year-old man from North Charleston, South Carolina, has been arrested and charged after allegedly interfering with a police investigation into a stabbing. The man, Terrance Wilson, is also facing drug-related charges after officers found fentanyl and meth on him during his arrest. The incident happened early Sunday morning at the Klux Event Center on Dorchester Road.

How the Case Unfolded

The North Charleston Police Department responded at around 3:36 a.m. to a local hospital, where a woman reported being stabbed. She told officers that she had been attacked with a small keychain knife.

Based on the information she gave, officers went to the Klux Event Center, where the stabbing reportedly happened.

Crime Scene Found in the Bathroom

When officers entered the event center, they discovered the women’s bathroom was the crime scene. Inside, a man later identified as Terrance Wilson, who appeared to be part of the cleaning crew, was seen cleaning the area.

Officers ordered him to stop cleaning, as it could destroy important evidence related to the stabbing. But Wilson refused to stop, which raised more suspicion.

Drugs Discovered During Arrest

With backup officers on the scene, Wilson was handcuffed. While searching him, one officer felt a large green bag in his pocket. Inside the bag, they found:

A clear bag with pink powder (1.40 grams) that tested presumptive positive for fentanyl

Another clear bag with pink pills (5.1 grams) that also tested positive for fentanyl

A larger bag with 48.9 grams of multicolored pills, which tested positive for methamphetamine (meth)

Wilson claimed that he had found the green bag on the floor of the event center, but police didn’t believe his explanation.

Charges and Bond

Wilson was taken to the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center and charged with:

Hindering a police investigation

Possession of illegal drugs, including fentanyl and meth

He was granted a $105,000 bond, but remains in custody as the investigation continues.

What started as a stabbing investigation has now turned into a much larger case involving obstruction of justice and dangerous drugs. Terrance Wilson’s actions not only interfered with a serious crime scene but also led police to uncover what they believe is illegal drug possession. Authorities continue to investigate both the stabbing and the source of the drugs. The case highlights the risks of tampering with crime scenes and the growing problem of fentanyl and meth in local communities.
