A judge has sentenced a man convicted of murder in Charleston County in 2021

Charleston, South Carolina A man found guilty by a Charleston County jury of killing a 22-year-old in 2021 was sentenced by a judge.

In connection with Travis Green Jr.’s shooting death, Brian Randell Sease received a 30-year sentence.

Following a five-day trial, a jury found Sease guilty on Monday of voluntary manslaughter, armed robbery, and possessing a weapon while committing a violent felony, according to Ashley Kay, a spokesman for the Ninth Circuit Solicitor.

On October 30, 2021, Charleston Police arrived at the Pinecrest Green Apartments in West Ashley and discovered Green in the driver’s seat of his vehicle, suffering from several gunshot wounds.

Investigators were informed by a witness that they observed a Sease with a gun fleeing the site. Three individuals were seen walking to the scene of Green’s shooting just before Green’s vehicle was observed pulling into the parking lot, according to security footage that detectives were able to retrieve.

Prosecutors claimed shortly afterward that all three fled from the same location.

According to Kay, photos showed Sease brandishing a silver revolver while wearing a light denim jacket. During a check of Sease’s house, investigators found the same denim jacket and reported that they had verified a material on it was Green’s blood.

The victim allegedly drove to the property to sell them marijuana, and Sease and two other males, Antonio Green and Derrick Stewart, planned to rob the victim, according to the prosecution. One of the two firearms used to shoot Travis Green was discovered in the car, according to crime scene investigators.

According to Kay, the firearm that was used to shoot the deceased twice seemed to be the same one that was in Sease’s hand as he fled the scene.

According to a pathologist’s testimony, the victim’s back was shot with one of the fatal wounds. Sease’s fingerprint was discovered on the car’s rear driver’s door, prosecutors informed the jury, suggesting that Sease was seated behind the victim at the time of the shooting.

On August 15, 2025, a Charleston County jury found Antonio Green guilty of murder. Travis Green’s family claimed Antonio Green was his first cousin during that trial.

According to Kay, Stewart entered a guilty plea to voluntary manslaughter on December 2 and is currently awaiting sentencing.
