A Christian daycare worker is accused of yanking, shaking, and slamming a baby into a crib in North Charleston, South Carolina.

Gladys Rampersant, 75, of North Charleston, South Carolina, was arrested on Thursday, September 11 on suspicion of abusing an infant throughout the summer, according to WCSC.

According to the publication, Rampersant worked at South Charleston’s Sweetgrass Christian Academy, where the alleged crimes were allegedly committed in July.

Rampersant allegedly started dragging the kid up by the arms, shaking it, and then “slamming” it into a cot when she was interacting with the child, who was apparently younger than a year old.

According to WCSC, Rampersant then allegedly went back to the crib, took the child out, and repeatedly hit them over the head.

She was brought to the Al Cannon Detention Center after being accused with criminal conduct toward a kid.

Rampersant secured a $15,000 bond and was freed five hours after being arrested, according to jail records cited by WCSC.

According to the article, Sweetgrass Christian Academy seems to have shut down for good. On July 26 of last year, the company first opened for business.
