You will not get to see the end of your f—ing term': Feds want to lock up Trump assassination threat suspect who allegedly promised POTUS, AG would get a 'bullet to the head'

Federal prosecutors in Rhode Island are trying to sentence a man already accused of plotting to assassinate President Donald Trump and numerous high-profile members of the administration, claiming he continues to endanger the community and the targets of his threats.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Dulce Donovan requested that a federal judge issue an arrest warrant for Carl D. Montague, stating the 37-year-old had regularly violated the terms of his pretrial release. Montague was initially detained on July 9 on accusations of making threats against the president, interstate threats, and threatening US officials with the intent to obstruct their execution of official responsibilities.

As previously reported by Law&Crime, Montague allegedly threatened to assassinate Trump, Attorney General Pam Bondi, and White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller in a social media post on June 27.

The message, made on the president’s Truth Social platform under the alias “tacoustic,” allegedly stated:

It’s a shame you won’t get to see the end of your f—ing term, because I’m gonna make sure I put a bullet [right] between your f—ing head you piece of s—, you, Pam Bondi. Stephen f—ing miller, all you b—s are gonna get a f—ing bullet to the head every single f—ing one of you.

Investigators matched the username to a Gmail account in Providence, Rhode Island, and filed an emergency disclosure request with Google, which furnished the Secret Service with the corresponding IP address. Following more investigation, authorities said they were able to identify Montague as the person behind the account and the threat.

Federal authorities eventually discovered him hiding in a bathtub in his residence.

“Montague began confessing to making threats before agents could introduce themselves or explain why they were there,” investigators stated in an affidavit. “Montague admitted to consuming a lot of marijuana when he made the threat. Montague stated that he canceled his Truth Social account after sending the post. Montague was dissatisfied with current politics and vented his frustrations on Truth Social. Montague had no specific cause to focus his threat at DCOS Miller and AG Bondi. Montague noticed their names in previous discussions and posts he was reading and then published his post.”

Montague made his first court appearance on July 9, and was released after posting a $10,000 unsecured bond. According to court documents, Montague was ordered by a judge to wear a GPS tracking device and reside in his apartment from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. as part of his bond. He was also told not to consume alcohol and to seek employment.

In a court filing on Nov. 25, prosecutors claimed Montague “has four times violated his conditions of pretrial release by consuming alcohol” and “has not abided by the condition that he seek employment.”

“Further, most recently, on November 21, 2025, the defendant called the location monitoring line after hours, advised he had been drinking and that he was going to self-report for treatment,” said the prosecution. “Significantly, during the call, he directed profane language at the United States Probations Office to whom he was speaking.”
