A shocking incident in Washington state has raised serious concerns about violence and public safety after a simple prank turned into a dangerous confrontation involving a firearm.
Incident Escalates After Water Balloon Prank
According to police, 31-year-old Majeed Guerry allegedly threatened and attacked a group of teenagers in Tacoma after they threw a water balloon at his car on February 28.
Authorities say what started as a prank quickly escalated when Guerry reportedly chased the teens in his vehicle and blocked their path.
Threats and Confrontation
Police reports state that Guerry got out of his car and began shouting at the group. He allegedly made serious threats, including saying he would kill them. The situation became more intense as he confronted the teens at close range.
Investigators say the teens were frightened and tried to comply as the situation grew more dangerous.
Alleged Robbery and Assault
According to the affidavit, Guerry demanded money and belongings from the teens. He is accused of taking cash from them and physically assaulting one of the victims.
Police say he struck one teen multiple times with a gun and pointed the weapon at others during the incident. The victim was reportedly injured and later taken to a hospital for treatment.
Shooting Incident
Authorities allege that during the confrontation, Guerry fired the weapon at close range, seriously injuring one of the teens. Despite the severity of the incident, the victim survived and was able to speak with investigators.
This part of the case has led to multiple serious charges against the accused.
Arrest and Charges
After the incident, the teens contacted police. Officers later located Guerry at a nearby casino and arrested him.
He has been charged with:
