Kentucky man Herb Allen Lovett, 39, faces fourth-degree assault charges after allegedly slamming his fiancée’s head into his pickup truck’s mirror during a dispute at Wildcat Offroad Park near East Bernstadt. The incident unfolded early Sunday morning following their off-road outing, where he had ditched her to ride with a friend instead.
Altercation Details
Court records indicate Lovett returned around 4 a.m., sparking an argument as she sat in his truck with the ignition on for warmth. He reportedly rammed her head into the mirror, grabbed her neck, and dragged her by the hair while she was on the ground. She escaped by crawling under a camper, then sought help at the business office once it opened.
Arrest and Aftermath
Deputies found her with a facial cut, hairline bruising, neck marks, and mud-covered; Lovett admitted to arguing but not her injuries. Booked into Laurel County Correctional Center, he posted $1,000 bond and is set for court on April 21. An employee encouraged her report—community support can be crucial in abuse cases.
