When Grandma discovered her murderer attempting to take her SUV from her garage, she was stabbed to death "in her favorite pajamas."

Antonio Brown, 26, from Georgia, pleaded guilty to murdering 77-year-old Eleanor “Ellen” Bowles on December 10, 2022, entering a non-negotiated plea on Monday, December 8, 2025—the day his trial was set to begin.

Bowles encountered Brown in her Buckhead garage as he attempted to steal her Lexus SUV; he stabbed her over 12 times, leaving her to bleed out after fleeing the scene. Her adult son discovered her body in her favorite pajamas during a holiday visit, an image he described as life-altering due to the amount of blood.

Prosecutors had strong evidence, including video of Brown driving away in the SUV, DNA on the murder weapon, and his prior liquor store robbery that day. Bowles reportedly fought her attacker, who deprived her of preparing for Christmas.

Brown, indicted on 12 charges like felony murder, armed robbery, and burglary, apologized in court, stating no one should endure such a fate. The judge imposed two life sentences with parole eligibility after 60 years.
