When a father returns from his midnight work with McDonald's breakfast for the family, he discovers that his wife has fatally murdered his daughter, according to the police.

Diane Grovola, 57, from Secane in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, allegedly stabbed her 23-year-old daughter, Daniele Grovola, to death on December 23, 2025, around 6:30 a.m. at their home on the 200 block of South Bishop Avenue. The father returned from an overnight shift at a UPS facility, found the scene with blood on the family dog, and was told by his wife that she had stabbed their daughter and harmed the dog. Daniele suffered multiple lacerations to her face, chest, legs, and back, and was pronounced dead at 7:07 a.m. despite lifesaving efforts.

Police Response and Arrest
Officers arrived to find Grovola naked, covered in blood from self-inflicted cuts, armed with a knife, and resisting commands; she was subdued with wrist restraints. She allegedly said, “Sorry, I should have stabbed myself first,” after arrest. A blood-covered stainless steel kitchen knife was recovered from the living room wall during a search.

Charges and Current Status
Grovola faces charges of first-degree murder, third-degree murder, criminal homicide, possession of an instrument of crime, and aggravated cruelty to animals. The family dog survived abdominal cuts and received veterinary treatment. She was arraigned, held without bail at George W. Hill Correctional Facility, with a next court date on January 6, 2026.
