Two people were killed in a moped crash in Orangeburg County

Orangeburg, South Carolina – Two persons were killed in a collision in Orangeburg County early Friday morning.

The incident occurred at 2:25 a.m. on U.S. 301 near Jernigan Drive, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers.

According to police, a bus driver charged of DUI was carrying 17 bottles of narcotics.
A recently released report sheds light on the arrest of an Edgefield County bus driver accused of driving under the influence.

According to troopers, a 2024 JBLC scooter and a 2021 Kia car were travelling north on U.S. 301 when the Kia rear-ended the moped.

Two moped occupants perished on the spot after falling onto the street.

The driver of the Kia was not wounded.
