Two different Uber passengers allege that the driver endangered their lives by driving erratically at above 100 miles per hour.

Two Uber passengers in Phoenix experienced frightening rides with the same driver on December 19, 2025, involving erratic swerving, high speeds, and threats. Video footage captured the chaos, showing the vehicle nearly hitting barriers and driving over a sidewalk.​

Incident Details

Yuki Momohara and her boyfriend recorded the driver veering lanes abruptly and ignoring pleas to stop or slow down. After stopping, the driver allegedly threatened Momohara’s boyfriend, prompting a 911 call and their exit from the vehicle.​

Second Passenger

Eva Carlson entered the same Uber minutes later, facing speeds up to 100 mph, near rear-end collisions, and ignored exit requests. She connected with Momohara online after seeing the viral video.​

Uber Response

Uber deactivated the driver from the platform following reports and video evidence. The company highlighted app safety tools like emergency buttons and GPS tracking but did not explain the brief gap allowing the second ride.
