Two Charleston police officers are honored for their outstanding service in the community

Two Charleston Police Department personnel were recognized for their service in 2025. Officer Alexis Bosier has been named Officer of the Year by the Charleston Rotary Club. Officer Cameron Thomakos won the same honor from the Knights of Columbus. These honors were granted in recognition of their contributions to the Charleston community.

Officer Cameron Thomakos received recognition for his actions in many occasions. He assisted inhabitants from a burning flat and carried a baby to safety. He also deescalated a situation with an armed man suffering from a mental health crisis. In addition, he helped reunite a missing child with their family and remove illicit weapons and drugs from the community.

Officer Alexis Bosier was awarded for her efforts with the Community Outreach Bicycle Unit. She is noted for fostering relationships with residents and supporting those in need. Her initiatives included purchasing shoes and clothing for children in need. Both policemen received recognition for their contributions to the Charleston Police Department.
