Three people were arrested in the deadly Anderson bar shooting

Anderson, South Carolina – Three persons have been charged with murder in a shooting that killed two people and injured three more.

According to the Anderson Police Department, investigators, in collaboration with the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, and Anderson County Solicitor’s Office, arrested Kevonn Duval Turner, Jamarcus Harold Brown, and Jamayas Keunade Howard on charges of murder, attempted murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, and high and aggravated assault.

According to court documents, Brown was denied release by a judge, Turner will have a bond hearing Wednesday afternoon, and Howard’s hearing has yet to be scheduled.

On Sunday, Anderson police officers were dispatched to Truth Bar and Grill on West Franklin Street following a dispute in which many rounds were fired. The shooting killed two males, Calvin Chester Jr. and Roymad Shaquil McDaniel, and injured three others.

“According to witnesses, an altercation occurred between two girls. “It got out of hand,” said Greg Shore, Anderson County coroner, on Monday. “I believe the club staff began to try to disperse the gathering by asking them to leave. There were two males assisting in getting the crowd to leave. When shots were fired from the parking lot on Murray Avenue near Franklin Street.”
