"The very first time we met": Man stabbed woman to death after she let him into her flat for cigarettes, investigators say.

A guy in Pennsylvania is accused of fatally stabbing a lady in her apartment after she refused to have sex with him.

The Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office revealed that Glenn Whittier, 54, faces criminal murder and tampering with evidence charges in the death of Pamela Puskar, 59.

According to authorities, Whittier was with a buddy at the Loyalhanna Apartments in Latrobe on Friday night.

Puskar visited the buddy’s residence seeking for her own companion, and Whittier requested for cigarettes, according to Pittsburgh ABC station WTAE.

Whittier is reported to have followed Puskar to her apartment and requested they have sex, which she rejected.

According to court documents obtained by The Tribune-Review, Whittier’s friend called him around midnight on Saturday morning, and Whittier said he was going to have sex with Puskar.

According to authorities, Puskar was heard in the background of the discussion saying, “You’re not touching me.”

Later that morning, phone calls and knocks at Puskar’s door were unanswered. Finally, on Sunday about 8 a.m., her apartment was broken into, and she was discovered dead in her kitchen.

Investigators believe Whittier murdered her on Saturday morning.

According to the district attorney’s office, surveillance footage shows Whittier leaving the Loyalhanna Apartments at 7 a.m. on Saturday morning, carrying a Ginger Ale box and wearing a hood tied tightly around his face.

Puskar’s autopsy revealed she had been stabbed numerous times and died as a result of homicide. Whittier was detained on Wednesday and spoke with reporters as he was escorted to a law enforcement car.

“Do you believe you’re innocent?” a reporter questioned the suspect. “Yes,” he answered, according to WTAE.

“What were you doing at Ms. Puskar’s apartment?” another journalist inquired.

“No comment,” he said.

“Did you know Ms. Puskar, and if so, how?” the first reporter inquired.

“That was the very first time we met through a friend,” I said.

Whittier was arraigned on Wednesday and denied bail.

He is due back in court on December 8.

The defendant apparently served time in prison for two assaults on women. In one case, in 2015, he was accused of holding a lady captive for days, beating her with a hammer, and putting bleach into her eyes.
