Richard Chesher (67) stands accused of brutally murdering his wife, Bonnie Chesher, by beating her so severely with a club-like piece of wood that she was left “unrecognizable,” in their Mount Washington, Kentucky home.
The Discovery
Mount Washington Police responded Friday night (~9 p.m., March 6, 2026) to their Williamsburg Court residence after a 911 call. They found Chesher blood-soaked in the open garage, next to Bonnie’s body on the floor—face and head beaten beyond recognition, wrapped in a garden hose. A blood trail led inside the house to the attack site; a bloody wooden weapon was recovered. Chesher had backed a pickup truck to the garage with a makeshift board ramp, attempting to load her body.
Arrest and Behavior
Chesher tried closing the garage door on arriving officers but was detained without incident. He was arrested immediately.
