Police in Argentina have arrested a man accused of being a serial killer who allegedly lured homeless people into his house, killed them, and dismembered their bodies.

The Suspect: Matías Jurado
The suspect, 37-year-old Matías Jurado, has been given the nickname “machete man” by local media. He was arrested after a police raid on his home, where they found disturbing evidence such as bones, blood, pieces of skin, and even a nose.

The Nephew’s Testimony
During the raid, Jurado’s 16-year-old nephew told authorities that his uncle would leave on Fridays with different people, mostly homeless or elderly, and return with them later. The nephew claimed that Jurado would beat, kill, dismember, and burn the bodies, taking the remains out in garbage bags.

Neighbors’ Suspicion
Jurado had a reputation in the neighborhood for carrying machetes, setting fires, and transporting suspicious bags in a wheelbarrow at night. However, neighbors never suspected him of being a murderer, and he was referred to as “the machete man.”

The Investigation
Police began their investigation after five people disappeared from the same bus stop in San Salvador de Jujuy, a pattern that eventually led authorities to suspect Jurado.

Charges and Detention
Jurado has been charged with aggravated homicide and is currently in pre-trial detention for four months as authorities continue the investigation.
