Antony Ton Le, 30, has been arrested and charged with criminal homicide in the death of his mother, Thuy Nu Thu Ton, in Auburn, Washington. Authorities responded to a 911 call on Tuesday from the owner of the condominium where the victim and her son lived. The caller reported finding Ton “wrapped in blankets” and possibly assaulted by Le, who had been struggling with mental health issues, including schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, after stopping his medication several months earlier.

Details of the Attack and Le’s Confession

According to the probable cause affidavit, deputies and medical personnel arrived to find Ton unresponsive, and despite efforts to revive her, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Le was later found in his bedroom and arrested. During his interrogation, Le admitted to killing his mother after an argument about school and finances. He described choking her, throwing her to the ground, and “curb stomping” her neck multiple times. Le reportedly said that he likely killed her with the “third stomp” but continued the assault out of anger. He mentioned hearing his mother “gurgling” for about 30 minutes before she died, and after the attack, he covered her body with blankets in an attempt to “help.”

Charges and Legal Proceedings

Le is currently being held in the King County Jail on a $2 million bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Friday. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the case, and the tragic details of the mother’s death have shocked the local community.
