Sitting there with her earphones on': 16-year-old murdered while waiting for Uber by 'angry' kid taunting her over boyfriend's death, cops say

A 16-year-old girl named Taylor Hamilton was shot and killed on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27, 2025, in Clayton County, Georgia, while waiting for an Uber with her earphones on. The shooting was allegedly by a 15-year-old boy, Adonis Alkarim, who was reportedly angry and taunting Taylor and other teens because Taylor was mourning the death of her boyfriend. The incident was captured on video by a doorbell camera, showing the boy brandishing a gun and Taylor telling him, “I don’t care about no gun,” before he shot her.

Taylor was a sophomore at Booker T. Washington High School and was known for being full of life, involved in JROTC, and spreading love among those around her. Her mother, Nandi Hamilton, described the boy as a “monster” and expressed deep grief and sorrow over the tragic and senseless loss of her daughter. She believed Taylor was lured to the Thanksgiving gathering to be targeted.

The 15-year-old suspect was arrested and charged as an adult with malice murder, first-degree child cruelty, possession of a firearm by someone under 16, and possession of a firearm during a felony. The community mourns the loss, and Taylor’s mother is planning a funeral instead of Christmas this year due to her grief.
