Logan Kruckenberg Anderson, a 21-year-old from Albany, Wisconsin, received a life sentence with the possibility of extended supervision after 45 years for the 2021 murder of his newborn daughter, Harper.
Case Background
Anderson, then 16, and his 14-year-old girlfriend secretly gave birth to Harper in a bathtub on January 5, 2021. He took the infant into nearby woods, placed her naked in a fallen tree, covered her with snow, and shot her twice in the head after hearing her cry, per the criminal complaint. An autopsy confirmed she was alive when shot.
Initial Cover-Up
Anderson initially claimed they handed the baby to a Snapchat acquaintance named “Tyler” for adoption. The girlfriend’s father called 911 days later upon noticing her pregnancy and lack of a baby, prompting the investigation.
Conviction and Sentencing
Convicted in November 2025 of first-degree intentional homicide and hiding a corpse, Anderson was sentenced on March 16, 2026. Prosecutor Adrienne Blais described it as Anderson viewing Harper as a “problem” to erase from his life.
