Charleston, South Carolina — A person was badly injured in a collision near MUSC in downtown Charleston on Thursday afternoon, according to a MUSC public safety statement.
The alert adds that police are conducting an investigation on Ashley Avenue at Doughty Street, in front of the hospital’s horseshoe.
Charleston police confirmed that the person was transported for unknown injuries. Ashley Avenue “should be completely open soon.”
Additionally, Ashley Avenue was closed from Calhoun to Bee Street, and drivers were advised to avoid the area if possible.
Though information is limited at the moment, MUSC’s alert states that an update will be sent once the route has reopened.
