Imeera Burnett, 21, is wanted by Pennsylvania authorities for allegedly assaulting another woman during a road rage incident in Upper Darby Township on Monday evening. According to the Upper Darby Police Department, the confrontation took place near the 69th Street Transit Center when the alleged victim honked her horn after a vehicle, reportedly driven by Burnett, cut in front of her.
Assault and Arrest Warrant
Following the horn honk, Burnett reportedly pulled over, exited her Dodge Charger, and walked up to the victim’s car. Police Superintendent Timothy Bernhardt stated that Burnett then punched the victim in the face, causing a facial injury. A fellow passenger had to pull Burnett back into her car as the incident ended. Before leaving the scene, the victim was able to take a photo of Burnett’s license plate. Authorities have since issued an assault charge and are seeking Burnett’s arrest.
Police Appeal and Criminal History
In a public plea, Bernhardt urged Burnett to “turn yourself in,” acknowledging that her emotions had gotten the best of her. While the victim’s injuries were not severe, they did require medical attention. Authorities have discovered a possible connection between Burnett and a criminal history, including theft, resisting arrest, and simple assault charges.
The investigation is ongoing as police search for Burnett, and the public is urged to help in locating her.
