Incident Details

The shooting occurred around 4:30 p.m. in the 200 block of Alpha Court, where the sisters were ambushed by a group of boys hiding behind a bush. Jaleeyah’s sister, J’Sheeyah, held her as she died at the scene, describing the moment as heartbreaking with blood on her hands.

Suspect Status

The suspects, all from Goldsboro, are detained at the Pitt Juvenile Detention Center in Greenville without released names due to their ages. Two 16-year-olds face adult charges, while the 15-year-old remains in juvenile court; first appearances began December 22.

Family Background

Born prematurely at 2 pounds in 2012, Jaleeyah came home on Christmas Eve and was called a “miracle baby” known for her laughter and resilience. A GoFundMe raised nearly $12,000 by December 25 for funeral costs, amid grief over unopened Christmas gifts.
