Jaleeyah Tune, a 13-year-old girl from Goldsboro, North Carolina, was fatally shot on December 21, 2025, while walking home with her sister. Goldsboro police arrested three teenage suspects—a 15-year-old boy and two 16-year-old boys—charging them with first-degree murder and felony conspiracy.​

Incident Details

The shooting occurred around 4:30 p.m. in the 200 block of Alpha Court, where the sisters were ambushed by a group of boys hiding behind a bush. Jaleeyah’s sister, J’Sheeyah, held her as she died at the scene, describing the moment as heartbreaking with blood on her hands.​

Suspect Status

The suspects, all from Goldsboro, are detained at the Pitt Juvenile Detention Center in Greenville without released names due to their ages. Two 16-year-olds face adult charges, while the 15-year-old remains in juvenile court; first appearances began December 22.​​

Family Background

Born prematurely at 2 pounds in 2012, Jaleeyah came home on Christmas Eve and was called a “miracle baby” known for her laughter and resilience. A GoFundMe raised nearly $12,000 by December 25 for funeral costs, amid grief over unopened Christmas gifts.
