Police said a woman informed them she had 'enough' to drink prior to the golf cart incident that killed one person.

A tragic golf cart crash in Jackson Township, Pennsylvania, on May 24, 2025, claimed the life of 24-year-old Megan Marie Mappin after driver Natalie Jo Lally, also 24, lost control on a curve along Latonka Drive.

Crash Details

Lally was operating an overfilled green four-seat golf cart with six passengers when she sped into the curve, ejecting three onto the street; the cart ended partially on the grass. Mappin sustained severe head trauma, was airlifted to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, and died two days later from blunt force injuries to her head, neck, and torso; another passenger needed 10 stitches for a head laceration.

Driver’s Condition

At the scene, Pennsylvania State Police noted Lally’s glassy, bloodshot eyes and alcohol odor; she admitted drinking “enough” and “a lot”. Her blood alcohol level tested at 0.164%—over twice the 0.08% legal limit—after a field sobriety test.

Charges and Next Steps

Lally faces vehicular homicide, aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI (both felonies), DUI, three counts of reckless endangerment, reckless driving, and careless driving causing death. Her preliminary hearing is set for March 11 before Judge Douglas E. Straub; Mappin, an organ donor, saved three lives through her donation.
