Breyanai Moore, 31, was arrested in early March 2026 for the June 15, 2025, murder of her estranged husband, Lonnie Moore, 33, whose death in New Caney, Texas, was initially ruled a suicide.
Incident Details
Lonnie was found shot in the head inside a running vehicle parked on the 23900 block of Northcrest Trail around 9 a.m., with the scene initially suggesting self-inflicted wounds. The couple, separated for two years and sharing a 5-year-old daughter, had texted that morning; Breyanai claimed she informed him of divorce plans and stayed home.
Key Evidence
A friend’s statement revealed Breyanai used a burner phone—purchased by the friend—to lure Lonnie, then shot him from the back seat as he reached for something. Flock neighborhood cameras captured her nearby, confirmed by her mother, who noted Breyanai’s hatred toward him, post-death guilt, weight loss, and frequent crying.
Arrest and Status
Nine months of investigation by Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit reclassified the death as homicide, leading to her arrest on March 4, 2026, without incident; she’s jailed without bond on a murder charge, with a court date set for March 31.
