Nicholas Jordan Gandy, a 37-year-old man from Charlotte, North Carolina, was arrested and charged with murder in the shooting death of his 33-year-old girlfriend, Tabulon Debreshea Reece. The incident followed a night out where Reece posted a Snapchat video of them together at a nightclub.
Incident Timeline
On February 15, 2026, around 6 a.m., police responded to a welfare check on the 700 block of Lawton Road after a caller reported a woman lying motionless on the ground. Officers found Reece with a fatal gunshot wound to the head; she was pronounced dead at the scene. Family members told detectives the couple had gone to a nightclub the night before—Reece left in her Honda Accord, but Gandy returned alone driving her car, claiming a vehicle swap.
Key Evidence
Reece’s Snapchat story from midnight showed her and Gandy at the club in her death outfit. Cellphone data placed her phone near the body site and the 10000 block of Old Dowd Road. Around 4:30 a.m., Gandy was arrested unrelatedly at an Amazon center there; his towed 2004 goldish Lexus contained blood, a discharged cartridge casing on the driver’s floorboard, and his ID in the rearview mirror.
