A dangerous crash in the Bronx that shocked witnesses months ago has now led to serious charges, with police arresting the driver involved.

Driver Arrested After Sidewalk Crash

Authorities say 23-year-old Williejoe Delgado has been arrested and charged with attempted murder following a crash that injured multiple pedestrians.

According to the New York Police Department, the incident happened on July 3 in the Bronx.

Car Mounted Sidewalk During Turn

Police say Delgado was driving a Ford Mustang and attempting to make a left turn at East 149th Street and Courtland Avenue when he lost control of the vehicle.

The car veered onto the sidewalk and struck several pedestrians who were walking in the area during the daytime.

Six People Injured

A total of six people — three men and three women — were hit in the crash. All victims were taken to the hospital and were reported to have minor injuries.

Driver Fled the Scene

After the crash, Delgado allegedly hit nearby scaffolding before abandoning the car and running away from the scene.

Investigators later found that the vehicle had significant damage, including a torn front bumper, and did not have license plates.

Arrest and Charges

Delgado was arrested on a warrant and now faces attempted murder charges. Police said he lives less than a mile from where the crash happened.

He is currently awaiting arraignment, and the case is ongoing.
