Evelin Enamorado-Cisnado, a 26-year-old Honduran woman, was found shot to death and hidden in a closet covered with towels inside a Charlotte, North Carolina apartment, discovered last Tuesday after a DoorDash driver noticed a foul odor and was told by someone inside about the body.
Her alleged killer, 23-year-old Lhis Brito-Costa, faces first-degree murder charges for gunning her down upon learning of her other relationship; Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police arrested Brito-Costa following a 4:30 p.m. welfare check prompted by the delivery alert.
Discovery Details
The DoorDash driver, attempting a delivery at the East Charlotte complex, reported the smell and was informed of the death inside, leading officers to find the body behind a door in the closet.
Family on Facebook credited the “young man” deliverer for the discovery and expressed outrage, calling Brito-Costa a “wretched woman” who acted heartlessly over the breakup.
Victim Background and Legal Status
Enamorado-Cisnado’s relatives are fundraising to repatriate her body to Honduras.
Brito-Costa is held without bond, with a court return date of April 2.
