Police say one person was murdered in a Monday night shooting at a Beaufort shopping complex.

Police were called just before 9 p.m. to the Cross Creek Plaza at 330 Robert Smalls Parkway (S.C. 170), where they discovered one victim with numerous gunshot wounds in the parking lot near Little Caesars Pizza, according to Lt. Lori Evans, a Beaufort Police Department spokesperson.

Officers attempted life-saving efforts before transporting the shooting victim to a nearby hospital, where they died from their injuries, according to authorities. The victim’s name has yet to be revealed by the Beaufort County Coroner’s Office.

There were no further injuries recorded, but Little Caesars’ exterior wall was damaged, according to Evans.

As of Monday morning, no arrests were announced in connection with the case.

Cross Creek Plaza is located on Robert Smalls Parkway, near to the Beaufort Walmart. Its portfolio includes Planet Fitness, Belk, Big Lots, and Academy Sports + Outdoors.
