A person was killed after a truck collided with a riding lawnmower in Richland County.
According to S.C. Highway Patrol Master Trooper William Bennett, the incident occurred at approximately 7:50 p.m. Saturday on Sloan Road near the intersection with Dorichlee Lane.
According to the Highway Patrol, a 2015 Dodge Ram pickup and a person on a zero-turn riding lawnmower were both heading east on Sloan Road. The truck apparently collided with the mower near the intersection of Dorichlee Lane.
The mower rider was transported to Prisma Health Richland, where he died from his injuries. The Richland County Coroner’s Office had yet to formally identify the deceased as of Sunday afternoon.
The crash is still under investigation.
