Mom says she woke up to discover her 7-year-old daughter dead after being assaulted by her and her partner. "She was just stiff cold," police said.

Jessica Savangsy, 26, and her boyfriend Retuquel Dupree, 27—a former Citrus Heights police officer—are facing murder, conspiracy, felony child abuse, and expected torture charges after the death of Savangsy’s 7-year-old daughter Adalynn and serious injuries to her 5-year-old sister in Roseville, California.

Incident Details
Roseville police responded to a medical aid call around 7:37 a.m. on Monday at a home on Oahu Court, finding Adalynn unresponsive with injuries; she died at the hospital. A sweep revealed the injured 5-year-old in a bedroom, while two other children were unharmed and placed with Child Protective Services. The couple, who lived together despite being separated, each blame the other in jailhouse interviews.

Conflicting Accounts
Savangsy claims Dupree abused and beat the girls, saying she found Adalynn “stiff cold” and regrets any role, calling for both to serve time for justice. Dupree denies harming the children, insists he was asleep when notified and wasn’t home prior, and notes the girls preferred him over “Jessica.”

Background and Status
Dupree was fired from Citrus Heights PD in 2021 after eight weeks and sued alleging racial discrimination; both faced prior arrests in October for theft conspiracy and weapons charges. They were arraigned around Christmas Eve in Placer County court and remain jailed.
