Sumter, South Carolina – A Sumter lady who had been reported missing the previous week was discovered deceased on Monday morning, according to a Sumter County Sheriff’s Office official.
Jessica Alexander, 42, was found dead at 10 a.m. near Pinewood Road and Cory Road, according to the sheriff’s office.
According to authorities, the reason of her death has yet to be determined.
Investigators believe Alexander’s death is suspicious at this time.
Authorities stated that the case is being treated as such pending the findings of an autopsy.
Alexander’s family members last spoke with her over the phone on October 15, according to officials. She was last seen by a friend on October 14, they say.
